Challenge
Afiniti's Code of Conduct was a dense, text-heavy document that employees found difficult to read and reference. There were large blocks of text without a clear visual hierarchy made it overwhelming to navigate and lack of illustrations, and graphic elements, led to low employee engagement. The document did not align with the company’s visual identity, missing an opportunity to reinforce corporate values.

Solution
A structured and engaging editorial design was developed using a grid system to create a balanced layout. Established a clear hierarchy using different font sizes, weights, and spacing for headings, subheadings, and body text. Simplified complex policies through visual storytelling, making the content more engaging and relatable. Integrated the company’s color palette, typography, and design elements to reinforce professionalism and consistency. Created breathing room between sections, improving visual clarity and reducing cognitive load.

Outcome
Employee interactions with company policies were transformed by the Code of Conduct. This study showed how editorial design principles, if executed effectively can boost engagement, comprehension, and compliance by bridging the gap between corporate communication and user experience. As a result, active participation in Paycom compliance training sessions increased by 35%.
